Ellen Demsky – Photographing Quilts

Ellen Demsky has been a professional photographer for more than 40 years.  She did event and portrait photography before it was acceptable for women to record events and do portraits.  When she started marathon running 20 years ago, she wanted weekends free so switched to teaching photography at such places as the Learning Tree, Pierce College, out of her Tarzana home and currently at UCLA extension.  She is proud of her many students that have been accepted into juried shows – 3 are now being exhibited at the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center in Tarzana.
Travel is Ellen’s passion and she has visited all the continents with her cameras and now her iphone. She will be sharing her cellphone photography skills with us with a special emphasis on using the  phone to photograph our quilts.
