He has been sewing since I was about 10. He has a BA in Fine Art from Stanford and an MFA in Costume Design from Yale. He worked as a costume designer in NY for 8 yrs and then worked in fashion for Calvin Klein for 10 yrs.
He started quilting in April 2017 and quickly focused on the Modern Quilting movement.
From all his training in art and design, he brings a strong foundation of artistic process in order to create new and original quilt designs rooted in a strong modern aesthetic. He favors the improv process as a journey of discovery built on solid research and inspiration. He had one quilt in QuiltCon last year and have one already pre-selected for this coming show in February. In his Bee, the CQBs, he guides his fellow members in the process of building up original ideas, stretching their comfort zones, and sharing ideas as part of the creative process.
